Welcome to this Yoga Basics class to come back to the mat and re-learn safe and smart yoga. If you're new to yoga, I hope I can take some of the fear away from that you have to be bendy and flexible to do yoga - you do not! And if you've been a yogi for a long time, I hope I can show you how to make sure that you don't injure yourself by doing poses again and again that aren't in the best interest of your joints.
My yoga classes are based on LYT Yoga, which is created by the physical therapist Lara Heimann. It's meant to create yoga that makes you stronger for life, not just take you into a fancy Instagram pose. In this class I walk you through the basics of a LYT yoga class and how to come into popular poses such as down dog or chaturgana safely without injuring yourself longterm.
